The motto and nickname for Aberdeen, Scotland, is "Bon Accord" and its banner of arms contains three towers - I suspect the three towers appearing on the Bon Accord (Alberta) are related.

Per the town website:

Settlers from eastern Canada, United States of America, Great Britain, and Scotland settled here as early as 1892. Our Scottish ancestry is reflected in the name 'Bon Accord' which is the motto of the City of Aberdeen meaning 'Happy to meet, sorry to part, happy to meet again.'

Phil Nelson, 15 January 2006
