Flag

The Benque Viejo Town Council flag was recently updated this year in 2025 (the Mayor is seen with the old flag on 30 December), simply modifying the logo. It retains the same elements but stylized (and has added trees to the bottom section), and its flag has a gradient border of sky blue to orange to sky blue to green, from top to bottom.

Coat of Arms

The Town Council seal has the form of a shield, with a ribbon wrapping around it to make it have a form closer to that of a circle. At the bottom, two branches are crossed together as symbols of accomplishment. The ribbon reads at the top "BENQUE VIEJO"; just above it is "Benque Viejo Town Council" arched around the top. The shield is divided into four sections: the two to the sides are triangles, in green, and the others are yellow. The upper-left and upper-right corners depict yellow orchids for its flora. The upper section reads "DEL CARMEN", its full name (Benque Viejo del Carmen) and depicts what is supposed to be the sun and its rays. The green triangle to the left depicts a man cooking in a cauldron over stones. The green triangle to the right has three logs for its logging industry and a sheep for ranching activities. The bottom section reads "19 de Octubre de 1904", the date it was declared a town council by the Governor, under two canoes in the Mopan River as a representation for transport.
