The municipality of Mirim Doce (2,513 inhabitants in 2010; 33,631 ha) is located 300 km west of Florianópolis.

Mirim Doce was established in 1916 by Bruno Heinrich.
The district pf Mirim Doce was established by Municipal Law No. 282 promulgated on 31 March 1959 and inaugurated on 22 June 1962. The municipality of Mirim Doce was established by State Law No. 8,356 promulgated on 26 September 1991 and inaugurated on 1 January 1993.

Description of the Flag

A falling diagonal triband, green-orange-green, overlain by a central vertical red bar occupying one third of the flag, and in the centre the municipal arms.

The flag of Mirim Doce is prescribed by Municipal Law No. 46 promulgated on 3 June 1993.

Article 1.
The municipal flag of Mirim Doce shall have the following description.

I - First field. Formed by two other fields, one shaped like a triangle and the other like a trapezoid, divided by a diagonal line forming an angle of 36 degrees, starting in the upper left canton and running down to the right edge to reach the first line of the second field at 1/3 of the flag's total width.
§1. The triangle shall be orange and the trapezoid green.

II - Second field. Formed a single field, charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms, which represents the origin, topography, tourism and foundation of the municipality of Mirim Doce, as well as its sources of income: rice, cassava and tobacco, and industry, joint with the people's force and greatness, delegated to the municipal legislative and executive powers.
§2. The second field shall be red, a color taken from the municipal coat of arms.

III - Third field. Formed by two other fields, one shaped like a trapezoid and the other like a triangle, divided by a diagonal line forming an angle of 36 degrees, starting in the lower right canton and running up to the left edge to reach the second line of the second field at 2/3 of the flag's total width.
§3. The trapezoid shall be green and the triangle orange.

Article 3.
The confection of the municipal flag shall obey the following norms and dimensions.
