The Sappony are a state-recognized tribe in North Carolina. They were
previously called the Indians of Person County. State recognized since 1911. In
2003 changed the name to Sappony.
Image of the flag attached from my
Archive shows it to be earth-tones of green and orange. The Sappony's non-profit
organization High Plains Indians is selling the tribal flag in the same design,
but on deep blue background, photo
archived.
