Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) is one of 23 institutions that serve
residents of Virginia and offer two-year degrees and specialized training and
certifications. LFCC has its main campus in the town of Warrenton in Fauquier
County, but also has campuses in Middletown and Vint Hill (both in Fauquier
County) and in Luray in neighboring Page County. LFCC was founded in 1970 and is
named for the sixth and seventh Lords Fairfax of Cameron, who owned substantial
land in the colony of Virginia before the American Revolution and for whom
Fairfax County is named.
There appear to be two variations of the flag of
Lord Fairfax Community College, both having the same basic design but with the
color palette reversed on the second. The design shows the College's logo in
blue centered on a white field; the variant has the logo in white on a blue
field. The logo has the letters "LFCC" in italicized capital letters above the
full name of the institution in much smaller italicized lettering. Three
concentric semi-circles, almost like ripples, radiate out from the lower right
corner of the logo. The blue-on-white design can be seen on the Facebook page
for the school's counseling education program (https://www.facebook.com/lfcccounseling/).
