The flag was presumably adopted in the late 1980s, and was designed by an 
unnamed art teacher in Ballard County. The flag was covered by The Paducah Sun 
as a small clip within the article.

A Ballard County art teacher designed a 
Kevil town flag. The purple and white flag will bear symbols: railroad tracks, a 
purple flag of lightning (the elementary school's logo), a tobacco plant, a 
strawberry (two popular local crops) and a telephone. Walker said Kevil was one 
of the first towns to have a central telephone office.
