Al Karama (ائتلاف الكرامة - Dignity Coalition) was established in February 
2019 by the lawyer Seifeddine Makhlouf after the Islamic party Ennahdha had 
officially renounced to militant Islamism. Al Karama calls for the inclusion of 
sharia (Islamic) law in the Constitution.
In the 2019 presidential 
election, Seifeddine Makhlouf was the 8th most voted candidate (147,351 votes; 
4.4%). In the general election that followed, Al Karama was the 5th most voted 
party (169,651 votes; 5.9%), securing 21 seats (out of 217) at the Assembly of 
People's Representatives.
