Caraş-Severin county is located in southwestern party of Romania, in historical region Banat. Caraş-Severin is the third largest county in Romania, it is also the county through which the Danube River enters Romania. The mountains make up more than two-thirds of the county's area, including the Southern Carpathians range, with elevations between 600 and 2100 meters. Transition hills between mountains and the Banat Plain lie in the western side of the county. The county is part of the Danube-Kris-Mures-Tisa euroregion.

Its flag is blue with its CoA in the center, and name of Romania and the county is placed in the upper part of the flag. Ratio 2:3. Probably, both horizontal and vetical variant are used.
