the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. It is the
follower of the early National Association of the Red Cross, approved on 17
February 1899 by the Malolos Republic. Organized in 1905, the Philippine Branch
of the American National Red Cross (ANRC) was officially recognized as a Chapter
of the ANRC on 4 December 1917. After the independence of the Philippines, the
PNRC Charter (Republic Act No. 95) was signed by President Roxas on 22 March
1947. Approved on 29 March by the ICRC, the PNRC was officially inaugurated on
15 April. Affiliation to the International League (today, Federation) of Red
Cross and Red Crescent Societies was approved on 17 September 1947.

A full-size
flag appears on photos made during the visit of a Chinese delegation to Davao
City, available on the
PNRC website.
The emblem of the Philippine National Red Cross, as shown on the PNRC
website, is a white disk charged with the Red Cross and surrounded by a blue rim
charged with the name of the organization in white capital letters.
