The depicted bird head is that of a Podiceps cristatus, the great 
crested grebe. In Norway this bird is found only at the far southeast along the 
coast, which matches both the
location of the club (Abildsø is a neighbourhood in Oslo) an its emblematic 
uniqueness. The chosen stance - front view, owl-like - is atypical but not 
biomechanically impossible:
