Coat of Arms

[COA of Nome] image by Tomislav Šipek, 23 November 2015

Blazon: Venstre skrådelt av sølv og blått ved trappesnitt. In English: Per bend sinistre dancetty argent and azure.
Approved by the royal resolution of 10 March 1989.
The municipal web site explains "it illustrates canalization of Bandak-North Sea watercourse." Or more explicit for us who do not know what that is exactly, there is explanation at http://ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Nome  "The arms symbolise the Telemark Canal which runs through the municipality and the different height levels in the canal."
