The Flag

Located in Ichikawa City Chiba Prefecture and established in 1949. The embroidered ceremonial flag has yellowish green background with a gold, silver, and green emblem in gold fringe. The university flag has green background with a white emblem. The university emblem is a three-lobed water chestnut surrounded by a laurel wreath with the characters 和洋"WA-YO" (Japanese and Western). This is derived from the family emblem of Shuichiro Horikoshi, the first president and headmaster of the school, which was the emblem of the Sangaibishi three-lobed water chestnut.
