Located in Hachioji City Tokyo and established in 2005. The university flag is black and blue-grey quarterly divided. There is a variant flag where the Visual Identity logo, in both English and Kanji, are used. This mark, in which the rectangle is divided into four parts, signifies that the (former) Tokyo Metropolitan University, Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Science and Technology, Tokyo Metropolitan University of Health Sciences, and Tokyo Metropolitan College of Technology have become one, and at the same time, the intersection of the horizontal and vertical lines, the dividing line, is trimmed by the rectangle of the outer shape. The events occurring in the capital city of Tokyo, the intersection of all kinds of information and various human beings, are trimmed from a new perspective.
