Flag

Located in Mito City Ibaraki Prefecture and established in 1983. The university flag has white background with a green symbol mark and black English university name horizontally written. The triangular shape of the TOKIWA symbol mark is composed of pine needles, named after the evergreen pine tree associated with the university. The pine needles symbolize "independence," "creativity," and "sincerity," and represent the three parties of students, parents, and faculty members cooperating and understanding each other to enhance the effectiveness of education and contribute to the development of human resources who will contribute to society. It is also a symbol of our determination to form human beings who are able to act with a "rich international and regional perspective" to explore the "wisdom" necessary for humanity, acquire "true culture," and respond to the changing times. This symbol mark will be a powerful spiritual support for the university as it continues to develop as an educational institution for a new era, while inheriting the university's tradition of emphasizing human education that it has cultivated over the years.
