Located in Koshigaya City Saitama Prefecture and established in 1999. The embroidered ceremonial flag has red background with a gold color emblem in the center and gold fringe. The university name appears at the hoist in gold. The university flag has white background with a blue emblem in the center. The university emblem is designed by combining the initials "SPU" of "Saitama Prefectural University," the name of the university in English. The three lines that form "SPU" represent the university's basic principles of "Cultivation" "Progress," and "Emergence," and the overall shape of the emblem represents the spreading wings of the Eurasian collared dove, the bird of Saitama Prefecture. This represents a university that, based on its basic philosophy, is taking a great leap into the future, spreading its wings to the world with both "education" and "research" wings. The keynote color is blue, which is academic, sincere, and trustworthy. It is also the blue of the clear sky seen from the center of the campus, nicknamed "Hill of Collaboration and Integration. The emblem symbolizes the boundless future of the university and is a statement of its aspirations to continue to be trusted and contribute to the community. A design proposal survey was conducted among students and staff in November-December 2018, and the emblem design was adopted in March 2019.
