Located in Kashiwazaki City Niigata Prefecture and established in 1995. The embroidered ceremonial flag has blue background with a gold-colored symbol mark and gold-colored kanji institute name written vertically. The institute flag has navy blue background with a white symbol mark and white kanji institute name written horizontally. (Source) The double arches in the center of the symbol mark represent "the universe" and "the wisdom of mankind," which are closely associated with science and technology. The three lines extending upward (trio lines) represent the "community," "Japan," and "the world" to which the university should contribute through academics, and the pillars of education: "humanity," "creativity," and "ambition. Together, they form the shape of a large bow drawn toward the sky. The symbol mark embodies the philosophy of Niigata Institute of Technology and symbolizes the high ambition of the university and its students.
