Located in Sango Town Nara Prefecture and established in 1984. The embroidered ceremonial flag has navy blue background with a gold and green university emblem in gold fringe. The university name is written on the hoist in gold. The university flag has navy blue background with a gold and green emblem and horizontally written white kanji university name. The emblem of Nara Gakuen University is also inherited from that of Nara Sangyo University, which was established at the time of its establishment, as the university inherited its predecessor's "founding spirit" and "educational philosophy" as well as the results of its educational and research activities and club activities. The design of the emblem was inspired by the Japanese cedar, a prefectural tree that symbolized one of the local industries related to the university's name, and was created by Dr. Kenichi Kitamura (whose pen name is Shosai), a professor at Nara Bunka Women's Junior College (now Nara Bunka Women's Junior College of Nara Gakuen University).
