Located in Kyoto City Kyoto Prefecture and established in 2000. The university flag has reddish purple background with a white emblem and white kanji university name written vertically. The emblem was created in 1894 to symbolize the new school name "Heian Jogakuin" and has been used to this day. The emblem is a stylized kanji平" of the word "Heian," but also, more importantly, a symbol of the Christian spirit on which the institute is based. Corinthians I, chapter 13, verse 13 says "Therefore, faith, hope, and love, these three remain forever. The greatest of these is love”, The three swords symbolize the spirit of "faith, hope, and love," and the emblem was adopted with the intention that those who study at the university will always look up to them as ideals and acquire this spirit through daily practice.
