Located in Fukuoka City Fukuoka Prefecture and established in 1950. The university flag has red background with a white and red symbol mark in the center. The predecessor of the university was established in 1923 as the nation's first public institution of higher education for women. The new symbol mark was created as a pledge to carry on this tradition and develop it into the future, drawing on the feelings contained in the school emblem of the women vocational school era, which was decorated with the bright star representing the university's brilliant achievements, the ridge mirror representing knowledge and virtue, and the white dianthus flower representing the virtue of women.
