The university flag has purplish blue background with a white emblem and horizontally written in white and English university name. For formal occasions, the university flag is decorated in gold fringe.
The emblem of Fukuyama City University was created by Kenji Ekuan of GK Design Group in 2010 with the following intentions: Fukuyama has been the site of various "knowledge exchanges" through the Seto Inland Sea and the Sanyo Road. This school emblem symbolizes the "historicity of knowledge" that is connected to the Seto Inland Sea and the Sanyo Road, as well as the mission of Fukuyama City University, "transmission of knowledge, creation of knowledge, and transmission of knowledge," using the Chinese character知 for "knowledge. The progress of our "knowledge" implies the evolution of human beings.
