Located in Kawasaki City Kanagawa Prefecture and established in 2002. The embroidered ceremonial flag has dark green background with a gold emblem and vertically written gold kanji university name in gold fringe. (Detail Pg. 2) The design of the school flag represents the school's founding spirit. The school was established in 1926 by Mr. Shohei Nishimura, who gave away his private fortune. While serving as captain of an ocean-going vessel of the NYK Corporation, Dr. Nishimura observed the advanced nations of Europe and the United States, and became acutely aware of the importance of education, especially the need for private education with high ideals, which led him to enter the world of education. The university flag incorporates a portion of the NYK company flag, a white flag with two red horizontal stripes that inspired Dr. Nishimura, and reflects the passionate beliefs and great spirit of the founder. The university colors are the red and white of the petals and the green of the leaves of the dianthus flower, the traditional symbol of the school. In addition, the two colored lines running up the right side of the flag represent the strong development and prosperity of the university.
