Located in Seki City Gifu Prefecture and established in 1997. The embroidered ceremonial flag has red background with a gold and silver emblem and vertically written gold kanji university name in gold fringe. In 1967, the university's predecessor, Gifu Seibi Gakuin Junior College, opened as a women's junior college in the area known as "Kiriya" in Seki city, Gifu Prefecture. The university emblem, along with the name of the land Kiriya =Paulownia valley, is based on the "five-three paulownia" which has long been considered a symbolic emblem for women. In 1970, the school name was changed to Chubu Women's Junior College, and the initial letter of the college name, "大學" , was incorporated in the center of the word "中" and established as the college emblem. In 1970, the College Emblem Renovation Committee created the "Guidelines for the Design of the College Emblem" and invited applications from faculty, staff, and students. In 1972, the college emblem was selected from among the entries. The design was created by Yoshio Miyagawa, Director General of the University Secretariat (in office from 1967 to 1978).
