Located in Aomori City Aomori Prefecture and established in 1999. The university flag has light blue-green background with a red and blue symbol mark in the center and horizontally written in white, Chinese characters and the university name in English. The circular shape of the symbol mark signifies the shape of Aomori Prefecture, which in turn is the initial "U" of the words "Universe," "Universal," and "University. ?The sphere in the circle is united with the U. The figure of a human being raising both hands, signifying fraternity and trust, and holding the English abbreviation of the university's name, AUHW.
