Wörth Coat of Arms

Shield Argent on the peaks of a triplemount issuant Vert three marsh plants of the same, chief Gules a bend Argent.
Meaning:
The arms are based on the oldest seal of mayor and council from 1500, shortly after the Wörth had gained the privileges of a market town in 1481. The chief displays the arms of the Bishopric of Regensburg, to which Wörth belonged until the begin of the 19th century. Mount and plants are canting, as the name of the city means "dais at the water", usually overgrown by floodplain forest or bulrushes. Seals from the 17th and 18th century displayed deciduous trees instead, a medal of the mayor from 1819 and an architectural sculpture on the balkony of the town hall from 1892 even conifers. Wörth was elevated to a city in 1954.
