Schechen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter parted per pale urdy of Gules and Or, at sinister Azure a Roman milestone Argent, chief Argent three linden leaves Vert in fess.
Meaning:
Schechen was established in 1978 by a merger of the municipalities of Marienberg, Hochstätt and parts of Westerndorf St. Peter. The linden leaves are taken from the family arms of the Dannel family, owners of the Schechen district (German: Hofmark) between 1419 and 1628. Their arms also were a part of the municipal arms of Hochstätt. The dexter half displays the arms of the Krätzl kin, who lived in the Medieval in the former Marienberg Municipality. The partition per pale urdy was also part of the municipal arms of Marienberg. The milestone is referring to the many local Roman roads, especially the roads from Augsburg to Salzburg and from Regensburg to Tirol. Probably the important Pons Aeni bridge had been in Schechen.
