The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a green-white-green horizontal triband with ratio of stripes approx. 2:9:2. The coat of arms is in the middle of the central stripe.

Description of coat of arms:
Shield parted by a bendlet wavy Argent, above left Gules an eradicated oak Argent with six roots and six leaves, beneath right Vert a horse forcene Argent.
Meaning:
The oak tree is representing the six municipalities of Bothel. The horse is symbolising agriculture and horse breeding. The bendlet wavy is symbolising the creeks crossing the comprehensive municipality.

According to source above all six municipalities of Bothel have no proper flags: Bothel proper, Brockel, Hemsbünde, Hemslingen, Kirchwalsede and Wester Walsede.
