Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a church Argent with one tower, roofs Gules and two storks addorsed Argent on the roof of the nave.
Meaning:
Rotthalmünster was first mentioned as a market town in 1280. The first town seal probably was made around 1350, when the privileges were either confirmed or extended by King Ludwig the Bavarian. Prints are known since 1374, already displaying the canting minster/church (German: Münster). This seal also displayed the storks, which are probably referring to the many storks in the valley of the Rott. A shield was added on the seals in 1565 by Mieleich and in 1721 by Wening. Literature of the 19th century erroneously displayed a church with two towers.

The banner probably is in use without approval. The arms were confirmed on 4 January 1973 by district governor (Regierungspräsident) of Niederbayern.
