Gägelow Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a pile Or, charged with a half pile Gules charged with a rosette Or, in either corner of the chief a rock Or.
Meaning:
The piles and the rosette are representing the church of Proseken village and its adornments of lozenges, rosettes and lancet arches. The rocks are alluding to local dolmens and are stressing that the area was settled since the Neolithic Age. The flag colours are those of Mecklenburg.

The arms were approved on 4 November 1996 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.116. The flag in the colours of Mecklenburg was never approved officially.

Shield Vert, issuant from an open book Argent three rye ears Or with stalks of the same.
Meaning:
The ears of rye (German: Roggen) are canting. The book is alluding to the local poet Fritz Reuter.
