Hildburghausen County Coat of Arms

Shield Gules three points Argent, mantled Or, at dexter a lion rampant Sable tongued Gules, at sinister on a triplemount issuant Vert a hen Sable armed Gules.
Meaning:
The lion is the lion of the Margraves of Meißen, as a large part of the district historically belonged to the them. The second field shows the canting arms of the Counts of Henneberg, and symbolises the parts of the district that belonged to Henneberg. The lower part shows the arms of the Bishopric of Würzburg, as the district religiously belonged to the bishopric. The base is also known as rake of Franconia (German: Fränkischer Rechen)
