Description of flag:
It is a white flag. In the lower fly is a red square. In its lower fly is a white Hamburg gate/castle in modern style, i.e. depicted with an open door. In its upper hoist is a white inscription of unserifed capitals "UHH" connected by their vertical bars.
Right of the Square is a black inscription: "Universität Hamburg", beneath the square and extending all over total width is a smaller inscription in black capitals, divided by vertical lines: "DER FORSCHUNG | DER LEHRE | DER BILDUNG" (= for research, for doctrine, for cultivation"). It is the motto of the university carved into stone above the main entrance gate.

Description of flag:
It is a white flag. Shifted to the hoist are eight vertical lines, alternating dark and celestial blue, probably symbolizing a heap of hard discs in a computer. Beneath is a blue inscription showing the name of the university.
Source: I spotted this flag first May 2010 on the campus in HH-St.Georg.
