Meaning:
Cadolzburg was a fortified market town with a castle. It was acquired in 1248 by the Burgraves of Nürnberg from the Zollern kin and was their seat until 1456, when the residence was transferred to Ansbach. Court seals with the current pattern existed since the 15th century. The hound is taken from the crest of the Zollern arms and had been there since 1317. The meaning of the stag is unknown.
