Effelder Coat of Arms

The shield is red with a silver bordure of 16, displaying a golden church, flanked in chief by a silver apple at dexter and a silver 6-spokes wheel at sinister.
Meaning:
The church is representing the local St. Albans Church, the highest located church of the Eichsfeld, also known as "Eichsfeld Cathedral". The meaning of the municipality's name is "place of apple trees". The apple is thus canting. The wheel is alluding to the Archbishops of Mainz, the former rulers. The bordure is representing a masoned local fountain, called "Kellerborn".
