Rohrdorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess of Gules and Argent, above a Maltese cross Argent.
Meaning:
The Counts of Hohenberg had been the original local rulers. In 1303 the Order of St. John gained the landlordship from the Reeves of Wöllhausen. The order remained landlord until 1805, since 1363 and finally 1440 under the souvereignty of Württemberg. Nowadays the Gothic church, dedicated to St. John, and two castles from the 15th and 16th century remind on the order. The newer castle today is the municipal hall. Similar arms with the lower half divided per pale of Sable and Argent, the family arms of the reeves, had been in use since 1913. The colours red and white had been those of the Hohenberg kin, the cross is symbolising the order.
