Hahnbach Coat of Arms

Shield Or, statant on a fess wavy Azure in base a rooster Gules, over all a fess lozengy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
The arms are canting, displaying a rooster (German: Hahn) and a creek (German: Bach), the latter represented by the blue fess wavy. The first seal is proven by prints since 1508. The right to use proper seals was confirmed by Elector Friedrich III of Bayern in 1567. The rooster is also a representation of the Hanbeck kin, whose market rights were acquired by the Palatine Electors of the Wittelsbach kin at the end of the 14th century. The lozengy fess, representing the latter, was added at the same time, but omitted since the 17th century on town seals and since the 19th century in literature.
