Edelsfeld Coat of Arms

Shield Sable, a church issuant Argent with belfry and apse, at dexter flanked by a barley ear Or, at sinister by a palm frond of the same.
Meaning:
The church displays an image of the Romanic church of Niederärndt, dedicated to St. Joseph. The church is an important local cultural monument and symbolising the feeling of belonging together of the former municipalities of Sigras, Steinling, Weißenberg, Namsreuth and Kürmreuth, which were incorporated in 1972. The palm frond is an attribute of St. Stephen, patron saint of the local parish church, which is used by Catholics and Protestants as well. The barley ear is alluding to the importance of the cultivation of malting barley, which takes 80% of the local crop area.
