The Kingdom of Sanwi is a traditional kingdom located in the south-east corner of Côte d'Ivoire in west Africa. It was established in about 1740 by Anvi migrants from Ghana. In 1843 the kingdom became a French protectorate. In 1959 it was merged with the Ivory Coast and at that time the tribal population was estimated to be around 40,000 people in 119 settlements

According to a new French publication La
France, contre la Cote d'Ivoire, L'affaire du Sanwi, Du malentendu by Lazare
Kofi Kofi (L'HARMATTAN, Paris 2013), the flag of the Sanwi Kingdom is a
rectangular tricolor of what looks like red over yellow over red with a white
5-pointed reversed star in the centre of the yellow part [reversed means two
points upwards]. The star is in the center of the complete flag, at
the hoist is either black or dark blue with a white royal stool in the centre.

on page 88 there is a description of the
flag and its colours. The colours are green, yellow, green and the
vertical stripe at the hoist is red. There is also a black and white
illustration on page 9.
