The coat of arms of the Municipality of the Parish of Saint-Marcellin 
was designed by Antoine Deschênes, July 1991.
Blazon:
Divided with a peak argent charged with a cross sable, chief azure and field vert, 
bearing a papal triregnum or; a drop of water argent doubled sable, and two 
maple keys argent on the field.
Exterior ornaments: A mural crown argent masoned sable surmounted by the papal insignia; 
dexter, a roe deer or and sinister a horse argent standing on a base or supporting a banner azure doubled argent bearing the motto: 
"Semence, labeur, espoir, vie" [Seed, work, hope, life].
Symbolism:
The silver peak: symbolizes the white mountain, a characteristic element of St-Marcellin.
The papal triregnum: symbolizes the patron saint of the municipality. St-Marcellin was a pope.
The drop of water: symbolizes the lakes and the tourist aspect they represent.
The second drop of sand (black): represents the Black Lake, characteristic of the municipality.
The cross: symbolizes the faith of the inhabitants of St-Marcellin.
The maple seeds: symbolize the numerous maple groves and the forestry industry, 
two very important economic aspects in the municipality.
The mural crown: in heraldic terms, it symbolizes the autonomy of towns and municipalities.
The deer: symbolizes hunting, an important tourist attraction for the municipality.
The horse: symbolizes that agriculture, at the origin of the municipality, was the main economic activity of the municipality.
The motto "Seed, labor, hope, life": reminds the people of St-Marcellin that the hope of a better life is born from abundant seed at the cost of hard work.
