The municipality of Nopuranga (6,817 inhabitants in 2010; 34,827 ha) is located 375 km of São Paulo.

The symbols of Nuporanga are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 627 of 5 June 1978. The symbols were designed by the local writer José Aleixo Irmão, who published in 1980 the book "Símbolos de Nuporanga - Brasão, bandeira e hino".

The flag is quartered white-green by a red cross. The municipal coat of arms is placed in the first quarter.

The shield supported by two branches of coffee fructed proper. Below the shield a scroll or inscribed with the motto 'MAGNAM FACIO PATRIAM' ['PATRIAN' on the drawing, most probably erroneous] in letters gules." The coat of arms was modernized, in accordance with the original design and with the rules of heraldry, by Municipal Law No. 1,000 of 7 June 2006.
