The municipality of Doutor Pedrinho (3,990 inhabitants in 2016; 37,500 ha) is located 200 km north of Florianópolis.

Doutor Pedrinho was first settled in 1910/1920 by Fritz Donner, in a place still known as Alto Donner. The area was subsequently settled by Companhia Longo e Bona.
The district of Doutor Pedrinho was established by State Law No. 248 promulgated on 23 December 1948; the district's name was a tribute to the father of Governor Aderbal Ramos da Silva. The municipality of Doutor Pedrinho was established by State Law No. 1,101, promulgated on 3 January 1988, separating from Benedito Novo, and inaugurated on 1 June 1989.

Description of the Flag

The flag and arms of Doutor Pedrinho are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 81 promulgated on 16 May 1991.

Article 1.
The flag of the municipality shall have the following heraldic description: Gyronny white and green, charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms in full colours and outlined sable.
§1. In the flag's center, the outer ornaments of the municipal arms - the towered mural crown and the scroll - shall be omitted.

Article 2.
I - The flag's width shall be 14 units.
II - The flag's length shall be 20 units.
III - The flag's rectangle shall be divided by four right lines crossing each other in the center, one in the vertical dimension, one in the horizontal dimension, and the the two other connecting the quadrilateral's angles.
IV - The first triangle, or gyron, placed on the flag's upper dexter half, shall be white, the second vert (green) and so on.
V - The distance of the shield to the flag's upper edge shall be 6 units, the outline sable (black) excluded.
VI - The shield's field shall be composed of a quadrilateral of 7 units in length on 5 units in width, in base a semi-circle of 3.5 units in radius.
VII - The blue twin stripes shall be inscribed in an imaginary rectangle of 2 units in length and the shield's width. The rectangle's vertical axis shall match the shield's vertical axis.
VIII - The curve limited the inner flanks shall be an arc of circumference located 3.3 units from each border, in the extension of an imaginary right line parallel to the shield's upper edge and distant from it of 4 units.
IX - Each cinquefoil or (yellow) shall be inscribed in an imaginary circumference of 1.8 unit in diameter.
X - The center of the circumferences delimiting the cinquefoils shall be distant of 3.75 unit from the shield's upper border and of 1.1 from the respective flank.
XI - The shield's outline, sable (black), shall be uniformly 0.1 unit in width.
XII - The two sides of the flag shall be equal, the reverse mirroring the obverse.
XIII - The elements composing the coat of arms and the flag's gyronny field shall be in bright colors.
a) Vert, matching Veronese green or a similar color.
b) Yellow, matching cadmium yellow or a similar color.
c) Azure, matching ultramarine blue or a similar color.
