The municipality of Água Doce (7,145 inhabitants in 2019; 131,427 ha) is located 400 km west of Florianópolis.

Description of the Flag

The flag of Água Doce is prescribed by Municipal Law No. 176 promulgated on 25 November 1976.

Article 1.
The municipal flag of the municipality of Água Doce shall have the following heraldic description: Horizontally divided into three fields, the upper field, blue, the lower field, blue, too, and the central field, white; the coat of arms of the municipality placed in the flag's center.

Article 2.
The coat of arms of the municipality established by Law No. 174 promulgated on 11 November 1976 shall be placed in the flag's center without its outer ornaments, keeping only the shield proper.

Article 3.
The features of the municipal flag obey the following rules:
1 - The flag's width is 20 units.
2 - The flag's length is 28 units.
3 - The flag shall be horizontally divided into three parts, or fields, the upper field of 5.5 units, the lower field of 5.5 units, and the central field of 9 units.
4 - The field of the coat of arms, in compliance with the usual shield's format known as Portuguese, shall be composed of a quadrilateral of 8.5 units in length, with the following dimensions: in upper right canton, 4 units in width on 5 units in length on the greater side and 4 units in the lesser side. In upper left canton, 4 units in width on 5 units in length on the greater side and 4 units in the lesser side. In lower canton, 4.5 units in width.

The coat of arms of Água Doce was rejuvenated by Municipal Law No. 1,495 promulgated on 22 August 2006.

Article 1.
The coat of arms of the municipality of Água Doce is rejuvenated, adding wind turbines to the original design.
