I saw in a city in Minas Gerais state a curious flag. I believe it is
the only one in all the world that shows Andromeda and a triple star. The
city is Brasópolis, where there is an observatory. Municipal law nš 986
says:
Yellow symbolizes mineral wealth; blue, the sky and space; green, agriculture; white, peace, tranquility and fraternity, which will always remain in the hearts of the families of Brasópolis. These symbols on the flag are in honor of the Dias Peak Observatory: the telescope to the left, the triple star to the right, and the star of Andromeda and its constellation. The flag I drew is based on the one I saw at the municipal chamber building. Brasópolis has an area of 361.2 sq km and a population of 15,161 (as of 2001).
