The root of the word "acorns" (žiri) is clearly visible, but it sems that there are no acorns in symbols used by this municipality either. The coat of arms of Žirovnica is shown on the municipal website It is green, bordered in yellow with the chief edge forming an open book, with five yellow feathers placed 3 and 2.
The feathers are arranged as in the honeycomb as a tribute to the oldest Slovene beekeping organization, formed in Žirovnica, and also as a tribute to the famous local apiculturist Anton Janča.
