Shield Argent, St. John the Baptist, dressed in fur, flanked by a clay pot Gules at sinister and an eradicated tree Vert at sinister. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "VILA DE S. JOÃO DE VER" ""
Meaning:
St. John the Baptist is name giver and local patron saint of the commune.
