Shield Gules with base wavy of Azure and Argent, three rowing boats issuant Or beneath an impending bridge of the same, in chief a saltire Argent. Mural crown Argent with five visible towers (city rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "CIDADE DE SACAVEM".

Sacavem Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Loures Municipality (q.v.); it had 18 469 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 4.1 km².

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent, a cogwheel Gules flanked by two branches of olive Vert fruited Sable, in central chief a cardinal's hat Sable with two tassels, in base a grapevine Or leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "PRIOR VELHO - LOURES".
Meaning
The hat is a canting element (Prior Velho = old priory). The olive branches refer to the former olive groves in the commune, of which only a few trees remained. The cogwheel is symbolizing the many local industries. The grapevine refers to the local vinery Quinta da Françelha.
