Blazon: På grøn grunn tre skråstilte gull lauvknivar. In English: Vert three
leaf-knives or in bend.
Approved by the royal resolution of 15 March 1991.
The blunt point leaf knives were typical for the region, used for gathering leaves as food for animals.
Prior to the adoption of these arms, the municipality used a different, unapproved, design, included in the [c2j87], uncoloured depiction of local landscape is a shield form. It was adopted by the municipal administration on 15 May 1951 after a drawing by Frøysten Rach Halvorsen. The design was titled "Helg og Søkn" (more or less: everyday, literally "Holiday and Everyday"). It shows the highest mountain of the area in the background (Rambera), the 13th century wooden church of Hoprekstad and the 12th century stone church of Hove, and in the base a wooden millhouse.
