Coat of Arms

The council informed me they did not have information regarding the municipal coat of arms. In the border, the motto "TRABAJO CULTURA PROGRESO". Behind, a crossed sword and arrow signifying the conflicts during the colonization of the region. Under the shield, the dates 1547, its foundation, and 1863, the year it became a municipality. Under the ribbon its name. At the top of the inner section, an image of the sun representing God. In the background, the Mixtón Hill. To the front, a ploughed valley and the Juchipila River, signifying agriculture and the importance of water. The Mary of Magdalene Church and Municipal Building are seen.
