The council informed me they use a municipal flag; a speculative image is attached.

Coat of Arms

from Wikimedia Commons

It is unknown when the coat of arms was adopted. The coat of arms has the same form as the coat of arms of the State, having at the top a helmet and at the bottom a ribbon in the National Colors reading MARIN N.L. The sides read the words PROGRESO Y CULTURA; at the bottom are the years 1684 and 1807; when it was founded and when it became a Villa, respectively. The upper-left section depicts the facade of the Municipal Building. The upper-right section depicts a crowned red rampant lion, a symbol of the state. The lower-left section depicts a bovine in front of a stream, with a field and hills in the distance; this is a representation of cattle-raising and agriculture. The lower-right section depicts the Our Lady of the Assumption church. Finally, in the center is an inescutcheon, with a red border carrying X's, carrying in its inner section a flaming torch over a book over waves. This remembers the shield of the Marín surname; the fourth bishop of Linares (now Monterrey), Primo Feliciano Marín y Porras, is who the municipality is named after. The book and torch are for education.
