The second son of Tokugawa Ieyasu. In 1590, he was adopted by Yuki Haruasa in Shimofusa Province and became a feudal lord of 101,000 goku. In the Battle of Sekigahara, he stayed behind to prepare for Uesugi in place of Ieyasu, who returned to the Kamigata region. After the war, he was awarded 670,000 goku of Echizen Provinceand entered Kitanosho Castle. The war banner has white background with a red circle. The red and gold circles were called "Hinomaru" and were used by many Daimyos.
