The town emblem was adopted on Jul 1st 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a green, a blue and an orange three color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana シ Sh of Shonan in a form of a man. The green color stands for a rich ground, a countryside, the blue color for the stream of Mogami River, the orange color for the sun and a rice stalk. As a whole, it represents an image of the vigorous town people who lives in rich natural circumstances.

Amarume Town / 余目町

The flag of the former town of Amarume was green with mark. The town is now, from 2005, part of the town of Shonai.
