Presentation of Kistanje

The municipality of Kistanje (3,038 inhabitants in 2001, 1,752 in the village of Kistanje) is located 50 km east of Šibenik and c. 20 km south-west of Knin. Population includes about 57% Serbs and 40% Croats. Outside the village on river Krka is the famous Serb Orthodox Monastery of Krka. Also in the vicinity are the remains of the Roman camp of Burnum.

Symbols of Kistanje

Decision Rješenje o osnivanju i imenovanju Povjerenstva za izradu grba i zastave Općine Kistanje, adopted on 31 January 2006 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 20 March 2006 in the County official gazette Službeni vjesnik Šibensko-kninske županije, No. 4, set up a three-member commission to prepare and conduct a contest and to present the best design to the Assembly.
Decision Odluka o osnivanju Odbora za donošenje grba Općine Kistanje (Odluka osnivanje i imenovanje Odbora za donošenje grba Općine Kistanje), adopted on 17 October 2014 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 13 November 20014 in Službeni vjesnik Šibensko-kninske županije, No. 23 (text), set up a commission to "prepare and propose a special Decision to describe the design of the coat of arms of Kistanje". No particular deadline was given to the commission.
